Service Times

Manasquan United Methodist Church is located at 23 Church Street in Manasquan. We have two worship services every Sunday:

Chapel Communion Service (8:15 a.m.): A small, informal service built around prayer, a Scripture lesson, and a relevant message. There is no music in this service. Communion is celebrated every week. This is a sweet and simple time to share the Word of God as an early start to your Sunday morning.

Sanctuary Worship Service (9:30 a.m.): Step into our beautiful light-filled sanctuary for our main Sunday service. This worship experience will feel traditional without being formal. We sing beloved old hymns as well as contemporary praise music, and we spend time with the prayer needs of the entire church family. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.

Online Service (9:30 a.m.): We’d really like to see you in person on Sunday mornings, but if you’re under the weather, on vacation, or based out of the area, we offer live streaming of our 9:30 service. Visit the church’s channel on YouTube to stream live, or watch the service afterward on either YouTube or Facebook.

For Visitors

Where do I park? Manasquan United Methodist Church has a large parking lot with an entrance off South Street. If this is your first visit, please look for guest parking nearest the front door of the sanctuary.

What should I wear? Like most congregations these days we trend toward the casual, so jeans are fine. If you’d rather dress in your Sunday best, plenty of ladies still come in dresses or skirts and gentlemen in jackets and ties. We care about you, not what you wear.

How long is the service? The 8:15 service is brief – usually 40 minutes or less. The 9:30 service generally lasts 60 minutes, followed by Coffee Hour (which doesn’t usually last a full hour unless we’re extra-talkative).

Is there childcare? Yes, at the 9:30 service there is Sunday School for children from preschool to fifth grade.

Do I have to be a Methodist to receive Communion? Here, the table is open to anyone, of any age.

Is the service traditional or contemporary? The 9:30 a.m. Sanctuary Service is fairly traditional – we sing the old hymns, along with current praise music, accompanied by the piano or organ. We say the Lord’s Prayer every week, and the offering is followed by the Doxology. But while we’re still on the traditional side, we’re not stiff. We laugh a lot, too.
